Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered the Emmy Award. She is best known for her role in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. She was born as the only child to a senior executive of the United Auto Workers and a homemaker Delaney grew up with her four brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized of becoming an official reporter for the court. Her modeling career began in high school and then gaining commercial opportunities when she relocated to New York. Her first appearance acting was as an innocent teenager in the show All My Children. Delaney's career has been filled with numerous television films and dramas. As with her professional career however, her private life has not been easy or prosperous. She is gifted and beautiful, has battled drinking in the past. Her marriages have also failed two times. The actress lost custody of her son in the year 2005.
